Some states are set to pass new laws that will prevent residents for requesting cash advances or loans not provided by their payroll provider β and that includes Cleo's cash advance.
Currently, Connecticut is the first to implement these rules, with this taking effect from October 1 2023.
This will affect your Plus and Builder Subscriptions:
Cleo Plus: this will no longer be available and neither will cash advance.
Cleo Builder: you will be able to access Builder but without the cash advance product.
I'm already subscribed to Plus
Any Plus subscription payments with a billing date after October 1 will not be taken, but you will still have access to cash advance until that date. After this date, your subscription to Plus will no longer renew.
If your billing date is before September 30 2023, the last day of your Plus subscription will be on the date of what would have been your next billing date, and you will have access to cash advance and Plus features until then.
For users wondering if this will affect repayments, you can repay your advance the same as you always have by going saying 'repay advance' to Cleo or going to the Borrow tab.
