Why can't I open my Smart Investing account?

You want to know why your application is delayed or declined

Why hasn't my account been approved yet?

Your account opens once Atomic has verified your identity and approved your application.

If your application is still pending, something is probably still missing. You can pick up where you left off in the app.

If you've sent everything and still haven't heard back, Atomic's support team can help.

Why are my identity documents declined?

The most common reasons are:

  • Your name or date of birth doesn't match your document

  • Your document has expired

  • That type of document isn't accepted

  • A still photo was used instead of a live selfie

Why was my application declined?

An application is declined when the information provided doesn't meet Atomic’s verification standards. Atomic Invest is an SEC-registered investment adviser and Atomic Brokerage is a registered broker-dealer, and both are required to follow strict identity verification and anti-money laundering requirements. Atomic may not be able to share the specific reason an application was declined.
